The Reader is an American drama film based on the 1995 German novel The Reader by Bernhard Schlink. The film adaptation is written by David Hare and directed by Stephen Daldry. Actor Ralph Fiennes and Kate Winslet star in the lead roles. The Reader was released on December 10, 2008.
